Expressions of interest are being sought for an exceptional leader to join the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science to lead the Task Force developing the Government’s Northern Australia Agenda. This is a non‑ongoing opportunity available for an initial period of 12 months.
Our department drives growth and job creation for a more prosperous Australia, by facilitating economic transformation and boosting business entrepreneurialism.
As Head of the Task Force you will:
- lead a high-performing team to develop a refreshed agenda for Northern Australia, encompassing industry, infrastructure, skills, indigenous development and investment
- work with stakeholders to ensure the refreshed agenda meets expectations and needs of communities across the north
- engage effectively across the Commonwealth Government, and with the governments of the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland, in the development of concrete actions under the refreshed agenda
- drive economic development across northern Australia through the refreshed agenda and associated activities.
To be a contender for this role, you understand the challenges faced in northern Australia and the development needs of the north. You will have strong skills in bringing stakeholders together – all levels of governments, non-government organisations and the private sector – to achieve a shared vision and implement policies to further the development of northern Australia.
