About the team

The business.gov.au Content Team is looking for a digital content writer with highly developed communication, written and analytical skills to join the team.

The team is responsible for writing, editing and managing business related content, events, and grant opportunities on the business.gov.au website and social media channels.

The business.gov.au website connects Australian business owners to information, grants and support from all levels of government. The website is one of the most visited websites operated by the Commonwealth Government.

We have a collaborative, flexible work environment and we recognise the importance of balancing work commitments with family, caring and other personal commitments outside work. We offer a hybrid work arrangement where you will be able to work remotely and in the office.

Our ideal candidate

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable in a dynamic, fast-moving environment to write engaging content for the Australian business community.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • a passion to create compelling content
  • proven and well-developed experience in translating complex information and rewriting it into plain English
  • strong experience writing and designing content for the web
  • strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • an understanding of human-centred design
  • good knowledge of digital service standards
  • experience in using content management systems (preferably Sitecore) and Google Analytics
  • the ability to work in a fluid environment.

What you will do

As a digital content writer, you will:

  • design, write, edit and publish digital content using content guidelines
  • engage with stakeholders to ensure our content aligns with the expectations of subject matter experts
  • analyse user behaviour and measure success through data and analytics
  • pitch ideas and undertake research to drive content decisions
  • undertake projects to improve the content and user experience on business.gov.au.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.

Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

Notes

A merit pool may be established to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing APS Level 6 vacancies should they become available within 18 months from the date advertising.
